Platform sunset

What happens if Percher shuts down

Percher is running normally — there is no shutdown planned. We publish this page anyway because an exit plan is part of trusting a host. If we ever do wind down, here's exactly how it goes and how you get your apps out.

The timeline

From the day we announce a shutdown, you get at least 30 days notice, then a long grace window where your data stays exportable.

  1. T-30 days
    We announce the shutdown
Every account gets an email with the date and a per-app export link. The dashboard shows a yellow countdown banner. New signups close.
  2. T-7 days
    One week left
A reminder email goes out and the banner turns orange.
  3. T-1 day
    Final reminder
A last email lands and the banner turns red. Read-only mode starts tomorrow.
  4. T-0
    Read-only mode
Deploys and env changes stop. Your apps keep running and exports still work. Deleting an app or account now requires a confirmation that you're giving up the export window.
  5. T+30 days
    Apps stop serving
Containers are stopped, so the live URLs go dark. Your data is preserved and exports still work.
  6. T+90 days
    Final deletion
All source, data, and env values are permanently deleted. This step is done by hand, never automated, and only after the full window has passed.

Questions

How much notice do I get?

At least 30 days before read-only mode, by email to your account address. After that, your data stays exportable for another 90 days.

Will my apps keep running?

Yes — through read-only mode and for 30 days after it. Apps stop serving at T+30, but your data stays exportable until T+90.

What's in the export?

Your source code, percher.toml, env keys, custom domains, deploy history, a per-framework migration README, and (for PocketBase apps) your full data. Optionally your encrypted env values too, gated behind a password confirmation.

Can I still delete my app or account during the wind-down?

Yes, but it's gated. Deleting wipes your data immediately and forfeits the export window, so the dashboard asks you to confirm with your password first. Until you do, your data stays safe and exportable.

When is my data actually gone?

90 days after read-only mode begins. Before that you can export anything; after that it's permanently and irrecoverably deleted.
